Our Client:
Mackie Myers is partnering with a prominent higher education institution based in Central London.
The Role:
- As Financial Accountant, you will work closely with the Deputy Finance Director to ensure high quality financial reporting, compliance with tax regulations and leadership of the external audit process.
- You will be a key contact for liaison with external auditors, having responsibility for preparing the financial statements and planning and delivering the external audit process.
- This will include liaising with internal stakeholders to finalise the figures and collate the required information.
- You will also support the Deputy Finance Director to influence and embed change and enhance systems and processes.
The Successful Candidate: - Holds a recognised professional accounting qualification or
has equivalent work experience - Experienced in leading the planning, preparation and completion of financial statements
- Experienced in leading and managing a team
- Experienced in supporting and delivering business change programmes in a complex organisation
- Has demonstrable working knowledge of VAT, Corporation Tax (ideally in an HE setting) and Customs Duties
- Possesses excellent IT skills and the ability to extract/analyse data from finance systems, ideally Unit4 Agresso Business World
What’s On Offer? - 15-month fixed-term contract
- £43,000 - £54,000 per annum
- Generous annual leave - 30 days plus public holidays and 6 closure days
