Our Client

Mackie Myers are supporting a creative higher education institute, to recruit a new Procurement Manager role.

The Role

The Procurement Manager will report to the Director of Finance and lead the procurement function across the university. This role will partner with senior stakeholders and external providers to deliver value for money, ensure compliance with legislation, and embed procurement best practice.
As part of a small team, this position offers significant breadth and autonomy, making it ideal for someone seeking career development and influence at a strategic level.

Main Duties
  • Lead tender processes for major contracts (e.g., catering, utilities, insurance) and support smaller tenders
  • Partner with Programme Development Group and Infrastructure & Capital Board on procurement initiatives
  • Develop and maintain procurement systems, including contract and waiver registers
  • Ensure compliance with Public Contracts Regulations 2015 Procurement Act 2023, and other legislation
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on procurement best practice
  • Report on procurement activities and identify opportunities for improvement
The Successful Candidate
  • Degree-level education and CIPS qualification
  • Proven experience leading end-to-end tender processes.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement legislation and frameworks.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Confident, solutions-focused, and able to influence stakeholders.
  • Experience in Higher Education or not-for-profit sectors (desirable).
