The Project
An immersive competitive socialising company reached out to Mackie Myers regarding a number of company wide projects that they were looking to address. From accounting for new site development projects, pulling together the 2025 budget and identifying process and system improvements, the company required someone who was able to turn their hand to many different projects. Initially looking for someone to join on a three month basis, they wanted a person who ideally had experience of working in a hospitality or leisure setting, had exposure of working in an SME environment and was someone that would fit well with the company ethos and values.
The Process
Understanding more about the projects this person would specifically be leading on was important in the initial consultation. The company needed someone who’d had experience within both financial planning, controls and day to day transactions. With the business soon to be moving to fully remote contracts, there was also a large opportunity to reach out to candidates across the entirety of the UK opening up the pool of talent Mackie Myers could engage with for this opportunity. Whilst initially the employer was looking to recruit on a fixed term contract basis, it was agreed that both parties would keep an open mind to day rate talent too.
The Result
Mackie Myers partnered with the client to agree not only the appropriate type of candidate, but also the best approach to take the role to market and opened up the conversation to prospective talent from other multi-site sectors. As we were able to approach a broader reach of candidates, the successful candidate was appointed within a week, successfully handed their notice in from their current employer and was able to reduce their notice period. The successful candidate was appointed from the care home sector, still with multi-site experience providing confidence they could still hit the ground running.
