About the Role

We are looking for a highly organised and experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to join a dynamic finance team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable function, including invoice processing, expenses, and payment runs, while supervising a small team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong financial controls, while supporting continuous improvement across processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Supervision
  • Lead, support and develop a small Accounts Payable team
  • Allocate workloads effectively in a deadline-driven environment
  • Provide coaching, training and performance management
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and policies
  • Support reporting, KPI monitoring and process improvements
  • Contribute to system enhancements and efficiency initiatives
Accounts Payable Operations
  • Oversee the end-to-end invoice processing cycle
  • Review supplier statement reconciliations regularly
  • Manage and review payment runs (including BACS, CHAPS, and international payments where applicable)
  • Ensure payments are processed accurately and on time
  • Resolve supplier and internal queries promptly
  • Oversee employee expense claims in line with policy
  • Ensure reconciliation of corporate card statements and month-end processes
  • Support month-end close activities relating to payables
  • Maintain strong financial controls across the function
About You Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in an Accounts Payable supervisory role
  • Strong Excel skills (including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis)
  • Excellent reconciliation and attention to detail skills
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team in a high-volume environment
  • Strong understanding of financial controls and compliance
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
