Role Overview

The Assistant Accountant plays a key part in supporting day?to?day financial operations, ensuring the accurate recording of transactions, contributing to month?end activities, and assisting with testing and process improvements as part of finance transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and journal entries
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including invoice processing, reconciliations, and credit control
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Prepare and post journals, ensuring accuracy within the general ledger
  • Support audit preparation and respond to auditor queries
  • Produce financial analysis and management reports as required
  • Identify opportunities to enhance processes and ensure adherence to internal controls and policies
  • Conduct user acceptance testing as part of finance transformation projects
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
  • Part?qualified ACCA/CIMA or AAT Level 4 (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role
  • Strong understanding of double?entry bookkeeping and core financial principles
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Desirable
  • Experience using SAP B1 or a similar ERP system
Skills
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Clear and confident communication skills
