Credit Control Specialist Hybrid

The Role You will manage a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring timely payment of outstanding balances and reducing aged debt. The role requires a balance of commercial awareness, strong communication skills and a customer?focused approach.
You’ll be responsible for maintaining excellent relationships, resolving queries efficiently and supporting the wider credit management framework.
Key Responsibilities - Manage a designated ledger of customer accounts and ensure timely debt collection
- Achieve monthly cash collection targets
- Resolve customer queries promptly and minimise aged debt
- Monitor and clear unallocated cash, working with internal teams
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Assess credit risk and recommend appropriate credit limits or terms
- Provide required documentation to customers to support payment processing (e.g., vendor forms, tax certificates)
What We’re Looking For (Experience) - Strong understanding of credit control processes and best practice
- Experience managing customer accounts, including credit assessments and dispute resolution
- Multi-currency experience
- A recognised credit management qualification is desirable
Skills & Abilities - Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship?building abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Proficiency with financial/accounting systems (SAP preferred)
- Confident user of Excel, Word and Outlook
Working Pattern This role follows a hybrid model. You’ll work
three days per week in the Colchester office, with flexibility to work from home on other days. Candidates should live within a reasonable commuting distance.
