The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced, strategically minded Director of Reporting to lead our external financial reporting and ensure compliance with US GAAP, SEC regulations, and UK statutory requirements. Reporting to the CFO, this is a high-impact role that partners closely with senior leadership, investor relations, and the wider finance team.
Key Responsibilities
Own and lead the preparation of quarterly and annual external reporting in accordance with US GAAP and SEC requirements (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, etc.).
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of UK statutory accounts and consolidated financial statements.
Act as the key liaison with auditors, ensuring smooth and efficient year-end processes.
Drive improvements in reporting systems, processes, and internal controls.
Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions (e.g., revenue recognition, equity instruments, M&A).
Partner with Investor Relations on earnings releases, scripts, and investor-facing materials.
Collaborate with FP&A, legal, compliance, and tax teams to ensure cross-functional alignment and data accuracy.
Lead and mentor a small but growing reporting and technical accounting team.
Key Requirements
ACA qualified, ideally trained within a Big 4 or Top 10 firm.
Significant post-qualification experience, including leadership roles in reporting and technical accounting.
Prior experience in a Nasdaq-listed or dual-listed environment, with a deep understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting.
Proven track record within a scaling life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical business.
Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP, as well as experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills; comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels.
Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
