Our Client:

The Finance Manager (Property Services) will play a key role in supporting the financial performance and strategic direction of the Property Services division. Reporting to the Head of Finance (Property Services), the successful candidate will provide comprehensive financial management, business partnering, and commercial support across a large-scale operational function.

This position will lead a team of finance professionals, deliver high quality management information and financial analysis, drive budgeting and forecasting processes, and support business leaders with informed financial decision-making. The role also involves strengthening financial governance, improving processes, and ensuring robust financial controls across a significant operational budget.

Main Duties
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across Property Services, providing strategic financial advice and business support
  • Produce and coordinate management accounts, KPI reporting, and ad hoc financial analysis to support boards, committees, and senior management decision making
  • Lead, develop, and manage a team of qualified accountants and financial analysts, including recruitment, coaching, performance management, and professional development
  • Develop and maintain robust financial frameworks and appraisal models for business proposals and investment decisions
  • Deliver high quality business partnering support to budget holders, including financial recommendations, scrutiny, training, and guidance.
  • Coordinate year end financial reporting and support external audit processes
  • Ensure the integrity of financial records and accounting systems while driving process improvements and efficiencies
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and support operational leaders in achieving divisional and operational targets
  • Ensure compliance with tax policies and minimise tax related risks.
  • Represent the finance function in dealings with external stakeholders.
  • Maintain compliance with governance, regulatory, and health & safety requirements
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks within the area of responsibility
  • Deputise for the Head of Finance when required
  • Promote a customer focused approach to service delivery across internal stakeholders
The Successful Candidate
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, or equivalent CCAB qualification) with relevant post-qualified experience
  • Proven experience within Property Maintenance, Asset Management, or a related property services environment
  • Strong understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS, with experience in management reporting, business partnering, and financial management
  • Demonstrable leadership experience with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop finance teams
  • Excellent commercial awareness, analytical capability, and financial modelling skills
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence at senior level
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise competing demands and work to challenging deadlines
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong systems knowledge, including experience with business intelligence tools
  • A proactive and collaborative approach with a commitment to continuous improvement and service excellence
