Summary This is a hands-on Financial Controller role at a multi-site flexible office space provider. The position requires strong technical finance skills combined with exceptional team leadership capabilities. You will manage a team of nine and report directly to the Financial Director. This is a 6-month contract with the potential to convert into a permanent role.
Our Client A growing SME operating across multiple sites within the flexible workspace sector.
The Role - Lead and develop a finance team of 9, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Oversee all core Financial Controller responsibilities, including monthly management accounts, board reporting, quarterly reporting, and year-end financial statements.
- Drive improvements in systems and processes, including supporting upgrades to the Sage platform.
- Act as a key business partner to senior leadership, ensuring accurate financial insights for decision-making.
Main Duties - Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting across multiple sites.
- Ensure integrity of financial data through reconciliations and robust controls.
- Manage budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, partnering with internal teams.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
The Successful Candidate - Proven experience managing and developing finance teams.
- Background in multi-site operations within an SME environment.
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (ACA and Big Four experience highly desirable).
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and advanced Excel skills.
- Familiarity with Sage 50; QuickBooks experience is a plus.
- Excellent communicator with a proactive, collaborative approach.
