Grant & Funding Lead

Our Client:

Mackie Myers have partnered with a not for profit organisation to appoint a Grants & Bids Lead. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bid professional to take ownership of the organisation's grant applications and bid activity.

The Role:

The Grants & Bids Lead will manage the full bid lifecycle, identifying opportunities, developing compelling applications, coordinating stakeholder input and managing successful grants.

Main Duties:
  • Identify and assess relevant grant and bid opportunities.
  • Maintain a pipeline of applications, deadlines and requirements.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of grant applications and bids.
  • Write compelling applications tailored to funder criteria.
  • Translate technical environmental projects into clear propositions.
  • Coordinate input from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop project narratives, outcomes, budgets and supporting evidence.
  • Manage grant reporting, milestones and compliance following successful awards.
  • Build relationships with relevant funders.
  • Review applications and continuously improve bid success rates.
The Successful Candidate:
  • Proven experience writing successful grants and bids.
  • Strong written communication and proposition-development skills.
  • Understanding of the environmental, charitable or public-sector landscape.
  • Ability to translate technical information into compelling applications.
  • Strong stakeholder management and organisational skills.
  • Experience managing multiple deadlines and applications.
  • Comfortable working autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Environmental sector experience, particularly ecology, biodiversity, nature recovery, water or conservation, would be advantageous.
What's on Offer:
  • Salary up to £60,000 FTE, dependent on experience.
  • Part-time, approximately 1–3 days per week.
  • Hybrid and flexible working.
  • Permanent, Fixed-Term or Consultancy options considered.
