Summary
This role requires an experienced interim who can bring immediate structure, support, and clarity to a finance function undergoing change. It suits a qualified professional with strong donor reporting experience, excellent technical capability, and the confidence to lead on audit preparation, restricted funds, month?end, and systems issues. You will be stepping into a team that needs stability, streamlined processes, and supportive but firm leadership.

Client
Our client is an international not?for?profit organisation delivering complex, multi?donor programmes in challenging contexts. They work with global donors, NGOs, and community partners to support vulnerable communities. 

Main Duties
  • Lead month?end close and ensure accurate journals, reconciliations, and management accounts.
  • Strengthen controls, balance sheet integrity, and documentation to create an audit?ready environment.
  • Manage restricted funds and donor reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and clear risk identification.
  • Own audit preparation including working papers, queries, and coordination with auditors.
  • Resolve key Netsuite issues following the system migration, including data and reconciliation challenges.
  • Streamline and simplify existing processes and reporting structures.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting and improve financial understanding across the organisation.
  • Provide supportive leadership to the Finance Officer and contribute to stabilising the wider finance team.
Successful Candidate
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA/CIPFA or equivalent) with experience operating at Finance Manager or Head of Finance level.
  • Strong experience in restricted funding 
  • Experience with NetSuite is highly desirable.
  • Ideally experience in NGO or INGO finance, particularly donor and grant reporting.
  • Technically strong across month?end, controls, balance sheet management, and audit preparation.
  • Ability to hit the ground running
  • Experienced in simplifying processes and improving reporting.
