This role is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys working within a lean and collaborative environment, taking ownership of day-to-day finance operations while supporting year-end and audit processes.
Our Client
Our client is a small membership organisation with approximately 60 employees and a turnover of around £3m. Operating with a close-knit and collaborative culture, the organisation is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to support the Director of Resources across finance operations during a busy period, with potential for the role to become permanent.
The finance function offers an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, and being involved across all areas of finance.
The Role
• Take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, including preparing monthly management accounts, posting journals, accruals and prepayments, and maintaining accurate financial reporting across the organisation.
• Support the Finance Officer in transactional finance processes including invoice processing, BACS payment runs, reconciliations, and maintaining strong financial controls and accurate records.
• Support key reporting deadlines including month-end, year-end, and the annual audit process, working closely with external auditors and internal stakeholders where required.
• Support the Director of Resources with ad hoc reporting, finance projects, and process improvements, while operating as a hands-on member of a small and collaborative team.
The Successful Candidate
• Strong Sage 50/100/200 experience (essential)
• Strong Excel skills (essential)
• Experience producing management accounts (essential)
• Comfortable working independently within a small finance team
• Qualified accountant desirable but not essential, open to qualified-by-experience and part-qualified
• Previous charity, membership body, or not-for-profit experience beneficial, though commercial backgrounds will also be considered
