The Role
This is a highly visible role requiring a technically strong accountant who is comfortable operating at both a strategic and detailed level.
- Lead the preparation and review of complex consolidated statutory accounts.
- Work closely with the finance team, reviewing accounts line-by-line and ensuring technical accounting accuracy.
- Support and manage the year-end audit process, acting as a key contact for external auditors (BDO).
- Drive improvements to reporting processes, planning cycles, and finance team effectiveness.
- Provide guidance and support to colleagues, helping to prioritise and delegate work efficiently across the team.
The Successful Candidate
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent) with strong year-end and financial reporting experience.
- Proven track record preparing complex consolidated accounts within multi-entity organisations.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, with additional exposure to tax and VAT highly desirable.
- Previous audit experience, either from practice or industry, would be advantageous.
- A proactive and personable individual who enjoys getting into the detail while also identifying opportunities for improvement and adding value to the wider business
