The Opportunity A leading, listed organisation is seeking an Financial Reporting Manager to join its Group Finance function on an 18-month fixed-term contract.

This is a highly visible role that will combine involvement in complex corporate transactions with responsibility for delivering high-quality external financial reporting and supporting the wider Group reporting agenda during a period of significant activity.

Reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting, you will act as a technical accounting specialist, partnering with senior stakeholders across finance and the wider business to ensure the successful delivery of statutory reporting, transaction support and audit requirements.

This position would suit a technically strong ACA or ACCA qualified accountant with experience gained in a large company or listed environment, either within practice or industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical accounting analysis across complex transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, restructurings and other non-routine activities.
  • Support the production of half-year and year-end statutory financial statements under IFRS.
  • Act as a key contact for the Group's external auditors, coordinating the audit process and ensuring timely delivery of technical requirements.
  • Prepare technical accounting papers and presentations for senior management, auditors and governance committees.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on IFRS and UK GAAP matters across the organisation.
  • Review complex accounting areas including revenue recognition, consolidation accounting and business combinations.
  • Support the implementation of new accounting standards and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain and develop Group accounting policies and reporting frameworks.
  • Partner with finance, systems and operational teams to deliver reporting improvements and strengthen financial controls.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives across the Group Finance function.
About You
  • ACA or ACCA qualified with post-qualification experience.
  • Previous experience within a Top 10 audit firm, including exposure to listed businesses, or a Group Financial Reporting role within industry.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge across IFRS and UK GAAP.
  • Experience of business combinations, consolidations and external financial reporting.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing environment with multiple competing priorities.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting concepts to non-finance audiences.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work to demanding reporting deadlines.
Desirable Experience
  • Listed company reporting experience.
  • Exposure to M&A activity or complex corporate transactions.
  • Experience implementing new accounting standards.
  • Previous interaction with external auditors and governance committees.
What's on Offer?
  • Opportunity to join a high-profile Group Finance team.
  • Significant exposure to senior leadership and complex business transactions.
  • Broad and varied role combining technical accounting, reporting and business partnering.
  • Hybrid working environment.
  • 18-month fixed-term contract with immediate impact and visibility across the organisation.
This opportunity would particularly suit an ambitious technical accountant looking to broaden their exposure to complex transactions, listed company reporting and senior stakeholder engagement within a dynamic corporate environment.
