About the role We’re looking for an experienced
Interim Privacy Counsel to support a fast-growing technology group that has expanded through multiple acquisitions. You’ll play a key role in aligning and standardising data privacy and employment practices across several legal entities, helping the business operate with consistency and compliance as it scales.
Key responsibilities - Lead on data privacy and UK GDPR compliance, ensuring policies, processes, and data-sharing agreements are aligned across the group.
- Review and harmonise intercompany and employment-related documentation, including HR data handling and privacy notices.
- Advise on UK employment law issues where they intersect with privacy, policy, or organisational change.
- Support the creation of group-wide standards, templates, and governance processes.
- Partner with HR, IT, and leadership teams to provide pragmatic, business-focused advice.
- Manage and coordinate external counsel where necessary.
About you - Qualified lawyer (UK or common law jurisdiction)
- Strong experience in data privacy / data protection law, ideally within a technology or multi-entity business.
- Good working knowledge of UK employment law.
- Confident operating autonomously in a remote-first environment.
- Collaborative, commercial, and solutions-driven approach.
