Mackie Myers have partnered with a London based University to recruit an Interim Treasury Officer on a 3 month contract. 

The University is one of the world's leading higher education institutions, with a long-standing reputation for academic excellence and innovation. This opportunity sits within the Treasury team and offers exposure to treasury operations, cash management, business planning, and stakeholder engagement within a large and complex organisation. 

The Role

The Treasury Officer will support the Associate Director of Treasury & Business Planning in the day to day management of treasury operations across the University, its subsidiaries, and associated trusts.

This role will be responsible for liquidity management, cash flow forecasting, banking administration, reconciliations, treasury reporting, and maintaining strong financial controls. It is an excellent opportunity for an individual with treasury or cash management experience looking to broaden their exposure within a well-established and purpose-driven organisation. 

Main Duties
  • Prepare and monitor daily and weekly liquidity reporting, ensuring sufficient cash is available to support operational requirements 
  • Coordinate and prepare cash flow forecasts in collaboration with budget holders and key stakeholders across the organisation 
  • Produce accurate bank reconciliations across University and subsidiary investment accounts 
  • Prepare and post treasury-related journals, including interest, deposits, transfers, sweep movements and loan repayments 
  • Monitor banking activity to ensure compliance with treasury policies, controls, and deposit limits 
  • Manage banking administration, including user access, mandates, and account maintenance 
  • Support treasury reporting activities and provide information for quarterly treasury reports
  • Assist with audit requests, banking queries, KYC processes, and treasury-related projects 
  • Contribute to process improvements, systems enhancements, and the maintenance of effective financial controls 
The Successful Candidate
  • AAT qualified, ACT qualified, or studying towards a relevant professional qualification 
  • Previous treasury, cash management, or finance experience gained within a commercial, public sector, or higher education environment 
  • Strong experience of cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and reconciliations 
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills with the ability to work with large volumes of financial data 
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong overall systems capability 
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet competing deadlines 
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with a proactive and collaborative approach
