Operations Director

Our Client
  
My client is a well established events services company who supply end to end operational services for events and venues. Venues across the UK with HQ based in Hertfordshire.
  
Key Responsibilities
  
Business Strategy and Management
  • Project manage and lead on the full tender process for new and existing business.
  • Lead the department’s contribution to annual Business Objectives and strategy. Cascade key business management information as appropriate to the operations function.
  • Drive engagement with the client, in conjunction with the relevant members of the team, to discuss preliminary ideas and innovations for the contract adding value and increasing tenure length wherever possible.
  • Provide excellent line management to all reportee’s, with a focus on proactive mentoring, coaching, development and team succession planning.
  
Operational Planning & Management
  • Develop and nurture strong, effective, professional relationships with all clients and other key
 operational contacts.
  • Lead on   forward planning of event scheduling and allocation to ensure that all contracts and events are efficiently planned, delivered and reviewed in accordance with client expectations.
  • Maintain an ongoing knowledge of all on-site operations to ensure that an overview of quality and service delivery is retained, and client and staff relationships are strengthened through this active interest approach.
  
Financial Planning & Management
  • Fully accountable for the Operations, Resourcing and Recruitment department budgets.
  • Direct all members of the Operations team to actively seek new revenue opportunities and ways to add value to the business, whilst continually identifying ways to make the department more cost-efficient.
  
Risk Planning & Management
  • Responsible for ensuring that a positive and proactive Health & Safety culture is developed throughout the Operations and Resourcing department, in accordance with all appropriate legislation and regulations.
  
The successful candidate
  • Experience in a senior management/leadership position, preferably within a service delivery or related industry.
  • Proven senior level record of success in the leadership, development and management of people and resources.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and energise the workforce.
  • Effective management and delegation skills.
  • Excellent forward planning skills.
  • Ability to prioritise, be proactive, take the initiative and work to deadlines.
  • Able to evaluate conflicting priorities and drive forward solutions to multiple challenges.
