The Opportunity Our client is looking for an experienced
Project Accountant to act as the vital link between project teams and Finance. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role where you’ll ensure projects are set up correctly, revenue is recognised accurately, and billing runs smoothly across a complex, multi-entity and international environment.
This role would suit a Part-qualified/ Newly Qualified Accountant with Project Accounting / revenue recognition experience.Based near Oxford, hybrid working is available What You’ll Be Doing
Revenue & Month-End - Own revenue recognition across multiple entities, including cut-offs, accruals, reversals, and intercompany flows
- Work closely with Financial Controllers to validate numbers and resolve reporting issues
- Reconcile ERP and CRM data, identifying gaps and driving fixes
Project & ERP Oversight - Manage the full lifecycle of projects in the ERP system — setup, budgets, milestones, and resourcing
- Support system improvements, invoice template updates, and regulatory changes (VAT, e-invoicing, intercompany)
Billing & Compliance - Ensure billing is accurate first time across global entities, including VAT and local invoicing rules
- Investigate and resolve billing queries, credits, and rebills
- Liaise with external advisors where local compliance input is required
Process Improvement & Stakeholder Support - Create clear SOPs and guidance for finance and project teams
- Support strong month-end discipline and clear communication across the business
What We’re Looking For Essentials - Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / CPA or equivalent)
- Strong project accounting or finance operations experience (professional services or advisory ideal)
- Solid experience with revenue recognition and multi-entity billing
- Advanced Excel skills
- Highly organised, detail-focused, and comfortable working to tight deadlines
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
Salary up to £45,000
