The Opportunity We are working with a high-growth clean energy business at a pivotal stage of scale, looking to appoint a Sales & Distribution Director to lead and build their commercial function.
This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, with responsibility for shaping and executing the company’s go-to-market strategy, driving revenue growth, and establishing a scalable route-to-market and distribution model.
The business has developed a strong product offering within the energy / infrastructure space, and is now focused on commercialising at scale across the UK and international markets.
The Role This is a build-and-scale mandate, requiring a commercially driven leader who can operate strategically while remaining hands-on in delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
Commercial Strategy & Growth
- Define and lead the commercial and go-to-market strategy
- Develop revenue plans, forecasts, and market entry strategies
- Identify growth opportunities across: Transport operators, Fleet customers, Energy and infrastructure partners
Sales Leadership
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing sales team
- Own the full sales pipeline, forecasting, and conversion
- Lead complex, high-value deals, including tenders and strategic contracts
Distribution & Route-to-Market
- Design and implement a scalable distribution and channel strategy
- Establish and manage partner networks, logistics providers, and third-party distributors
- Ensure alignment between commercial commitments and operational delivery
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Build relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders
- Work closely with engineering, operations, and finance to ensure delivery and margin alignment
- Provide commercial insight to support product and market strategy
About You We are looking for a commercial leader with a proven track record of building and scaling sales functions within complex, product-led environments.
You will likely bring:
- 10+ years’ experience in senior commercial / sales leadership roles
- Experience within:
- Clean energy / infrastructure
- Industrial / OEM
- Capital equipment or engineering-led businesses
- A strong background in complex, high-value B2B sales
- Experience leading route-to-market and/or distribution strategies
- Proven ability to build teams, drive revenue growth, and operate at pace
- Confidence operating at senior leadership / board level
