The Role
This is a hands-on senior engineering position focused on developing and optimising advanced printing and manufacturing processes used in the production of high-performance products. Working closely with research, development and manufacturing teams, the successful candidate will take ownership of process development activities, ensuring new technologies can be reliably transferred from laboratory environments into scalable, commercial manufacturing operations.
The role combines process engineering, manufacturing optimisation, quality improvement and technical leadership, providing the opportunity to have a significant impact on product performance, manufacturing capability and operational growth.
 
Main Duties
The Senior Print Engineer will take responsibility for process development and manufacturing excellence activities, including:
  • Leading the development, characterisation and continuous improvement of advanced printing and manufacturing processes. 
  • Optimising material, substrate and process interactions to improve product quality, consistency and manufacturability. 
  • Defining and refining critical process parameters, equipment settings and production controls to deliver robust manufacturing performance.
  • Establishing quality control methodologies, analysing manufacturing data and leading root-cause investigations to resolve process and product issues.
  • Supporting technology transfer activities, including process scale-up, validation, documentation and implementation into production environments. 
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering, scientific and operational teams to improve yield, efficiency, throughput and manufacturing repeatability. 
The Successful Candidate
This opportunity will suit an experienced manufacturing or process engineer with a passion for developing advanced technologies and improving manufacturing performance. The successful candidate is likely to bring:
  • A degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing, Chemistry, Physics or another relevant technical discipline.
  • At least 5 years' experience within advanced manufacturing, process engineering, industrial printing, converting technologies, electronics, diagnostics, materials development or a related sector. 
  • Strong knowledge of process optimisation, materials behaviour, quality improvement methodologies and manufacturing scale-up activities.
  • Experience working with production equipment, process troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement programmes. 
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with a proven ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and take technical ownership of complex projects.
