New research released today from independent recruitment partner, Mackie Myers, reveals trends in the housing market landscape for 2025, as viewed by senior finance professionals in the sector.
When asked what the biggest growth area would be in the sector this year, 39% of respondents said business partnering, followed by a further 33% who believe that financial planning analysis would be where most activity would be seen.
The research also asked senior finance professionals what the biggest hiring challenges faced by their business are this year. The top concern listed by leaders was finding candidates with the right skills (46%), followed by a difficulty in accessing top talent (33%).
When considering the most important attributes leaders look for when hiring into their finance functions, cultural fit was ranked first by 42% of respondents. Industry experience (36%), skills (33%) and attitude (33%) came in second and joint third respectively, with similar numbers of respondents prioritising each of these factors.
