At Mackie Myers, we believe business should be a force for good. When we started the company, our vision extended far beyond traditional business metrics. Yes, we care about results, our clients, candidates and profitability, but from day one, we’ve also been passionate about creating something that contributes positively to the wider community. Our goal has always been to build a business that prioritises people and the planet over profit.
That’s why becoming a Certified B Corporation was a natural step for us.
A movement that mirrors our values
The B Corp movement is more than a certification. It’s a global community of businesses committed to using their operations and profits as a force for good. For us, it’s also a strong articulation of our values. Being a B Corp means meeting high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.
We believe in operating responsibly, treating people fairly, and making decisions that are good for the long term, not just the bottom line. That’s not always the easiest path, but it’s the one we’re committed to.
Why we wanted to get certified
When we looked at what the B Corp certification stood for – rigorous governance, sustainability, employee wellbeing, community impact, to name a few – we felt it aligned perfectly with what we were already trying to build. But more than that, it provided a clear framework to help us measure and improve our efforts over time.
We didn’t pursue the certification for the badge, we pursued it because we wanted to be held to a higher standard.
The B Impact Assessment made us take a deep and honest look at how we operate, considering elements including how we treat our team, our clients, our suppliers, and the environment. It challenged us to think differently, and to embed purpose more intentionally and distinctly into every part of our business.
A score that reflects our commitment
We’re incredibly proud to have certified with a score of 94.8 – a result that reflects the strength of our values, but also the robustness of our internal processes and the hard work of our team. For context, companies need to score over 80 points to certify, and most score between 80 and 90 points on their first certification. We also scored well above the average benchmarks for our:
These figures matter to us not just because they’re higher, but because they show that we’re building a company that consistently outperforms expectations when it comes to ethical, sustainable, and purpose-driven business.
A milestone but not the finish line
After a rigorous and thorough assessment process, we’re incredibly proud to have officially joined the B Corp community. This certification validates the work we’ve done so far to build a responsible and sustainable business, but more importantly, it challenges us to keep improving.
Being a B Corp is not a one-time achievement, it’s an ongoing commitment to better business. For us, it means continually asking ourselves: How can we do more? How can we do better? How can we create value not just for ourselves, but for everyone we touch?
Looking ahead
Joining the B Corp community means standing alongside thousands of businesses across the world who are redefining what success in business looks like. We’re proud to be part of that movement, and we’re excited for what comes next.
To our team, clients, partners, and community—thank you for being part of the journey. This milestone belongs to all of us. Together, we’ll continue to build a business that makes a difference.
