Mackie Myers have partnered with a rapidly growing automotive business in Oxford to appoint an Assistant Accountant into their expanding finance team.

The Role
The Assistant Accountant will support the production of management accounts, budgets, and forecasts while ensuring accurate financial records across group entities. You will work closely with senior members of the finance team, contributing to month-end processes, financial reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives that help the business achieve its strategic objectives.

Main Duties

• Support month-end activities, including journals, accruals, and reconciliations
• Ensure departments understand their financial position and performance
• Assist with financial reporting and consolidation
• Maintain accurate ledgers and financial records
• Provide analysis and insight to support operational and commercial decision-making
• Contribute to continuous process improvement across the finance function

The Successful Candidate

• Part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
• Experience in management accounting or financial support roles, ideally in automotive, manufacturing, or engineering
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to develop within a fast-paced, growing business
