The Role

The Commercial Finance Manager will be a key business partner to senior stakeholders, providing commercial insight, financial leadership, and strategic support across the organisation. This role will focus on driving financial performance, improving decision-making, and ensuring that resources are used effectively to maximise both financial sustainability and social impact.
You will work closely with operational and leadership teams to provide clear, meaningful financial analysis, challenge assumptions, and support the delivery of organisational objectives.

Main Duties
  • Act as a strategic business partner to senior leaders and budget holders
  • Provide commercial and financial insight to support decision-making and long-term planning
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting processes
  • Deliver robust management reporting with clear commentary and analysis
  • Drive financial performance through variance analysis and identification of risks and opportunities
  • Support development of business cases, funding bids, and investment proposals
  • Ensure strong financial governance, controls, and compliance
  • Improve financial processes, systems, and reporting efficiency
  • Lead and mentor members of the finance team where required
  • Support year-end processes and liaise with auditors
The Successful Candidate
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA)
  • Strong commercial finance and business partnering experience
  • Background within the not-for-profit, charity or education desirable but not essential
  • Confident communicator able to influence non-financial stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into meaningful insight
  • Proactive, collaborative, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
